ASEAN 2015
Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) is set to assume the responsibilities as Chair for ASEAN 2016 in November this year after the 27th ASEAN Summit which will be held in Malaysia.

In 2004, Laos chaired ASEAN for the first time during its hosting of the 10th ASEAN Summit and its related meetings and is now taking the necessary steps to maintain the momentum towards regional integration and to successfully facilitate ASEAN Regional Forum, the ASEAN Summit and other series of meetings to be hosted in Vientiane.

Vientiane Times reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Australia's Department of Foreign affairs and Trade, and the Asia Foundation are conducting a series of lectures and forums for key Lao government officials tasked with coordinating Laos' ASEAN chairmanship in support to Laos' 2016 chairmanship,

Being the chair for ASEAN for the second time in 2016, Laos is assuming prime responsibility for the vision, leadership and strong habit of consultation that have become the defining features of regional stability and prosperity in South East Asia.
