ASEAN Themes and Logos from 2010 to 2015

Every year, ASEAN changes its chairmanship according to the alphabetical order of the English names of the 10 Member States. Whoever assumes the chairmanship shall uphold the responsibilities of hosting the annual ASEAN related summits and council meetings. It is also interesting to note that the host country shall also formulate a theme and logo which will be used for the entire year of its chairmanship.  Malaysia is the ASEAN Chair for 2015 and the theme of its Chairmanship is "Our People, Our Community, Our Vision." Laos braces for ASEAN 2016 chairmanship

ASEAN 2015 Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) is set to assume the responsibilities as Chair for ASEAN 2016 in November this year after the 27th ASEAN Summit which will be held in Malaysia.  In 2004, Laos chaired ASEAN for the first time during its hosting of the 10th ASEAN Summit and its related meetings and is now taking the necessary steps to maintain the momentum towards regional integration and to successfully facilitate ASEAN Regional Forum, the ASEAN Summit and other series of meetings to be hosted in Vientiane. 25th ASEAN Summit Kicks Off

12 November 2014, Nay Pyi Daw, Myanmar . The 25th ASEAN Summit officially starts today at Nay Pyi Daw, the capital city of Myanmar. The heads of State/ Government of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are gathered to discuss significant issues relevant to the upcoming ASEAN 2015 implementation. ASEAN Connectivity Video Series - The Vision

ASEAN is committed to build a Community by 2015. To realise this goal, a community of enhanced connectivity is essential because a well connected ASEAN, from its transportation networks to its peoples, will contrinute towards a more competitive and resilient ASEAN as it will bring peoples, goods, services and capital closer together. This will ensure continued peace and prosperity for its peoples. This Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity is a key step towards realizing this vision.

Philippines to host 6th ASEAN School Games

The Philippines will host the 6th ASEAN School Games (ASG) on December this year through the Department of Education (DepEd) and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) to be held from November 29 to December 7 in Marikina City.  Aiming to promote solidarity among youth through sports, ASEAN School Games is an annual sporting event for ASEAN schools. It also seeks to provide opportunities for school athletes to benchmark their sporting talents and encourage cultural exchange among the participants.  Student athletes of the participating countries of Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei Darrussalam, Malaysia, Laos, The Philippines and Thailand will compete in different sporting events including: athletics, swimming, badminton, golf, sepak takraw, gymnastics, table tennis, basketball, volleyball and wushu.  The 5th ASEAN School Games was held in Hanoi, Vietnam where Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand came as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd top placers respectively.
